It’s award season for the silver screen and for non-profits! 🏆

Congratulations to Angel Medina and PS Science (@psscienceorg ) for being selected as 2024 HALO Award recipients!

@halo_award celebrates everyday angels – honoring volunteers and the organizations they support in Los Angeles. This year, 6 individuals and organizations were chosen to receive the award in February, including PS Science, a member of the LA STEM Collective!

Since Angel’s start with PS Science, he has helped at 4 different schools and supported the PS Science Instructor team at a number of community STEM events, including Family Science Nights, City of STEM and Inglewood STEM Fest. His reliability and calm demeanor have been a huge asset in PS Science’s robust and dynamic hands-on after school programs.

PS Science works to educate children and support teachers to:

💐1) See beauty, wonder, and infinite opportunity;

🔬2) Do science through active exploration and collaboration; and

😄3) Know the joy of discovery and the power of knowledge.

Congratulations, Angel and PS Science! Thanks for inspiring us!

2️⃣ Venomous Science: Snake venom is helping cancer research! and has also been used to develop medications. 🧪
3️⃣ Snakeskin technology: Snakeskin has inspired a material that reduces friction – harnessing the ssslippery skin of snakes into breaking edge tech! 🔬
